Nonprofit Newsletter

I designed and managed the development of a newsletter for a nonprofit organization that works with children who have physical disabilities. I led a committee to determine layout style and article focus; wrote, solicited, and edited articles; desktop published each issue; and coordinated printing and distribution with an outside vendor.

Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology Module

I instructionally edited this module, which provides background information on the anatomy and physiology of the human nervous system as it pertains to substance dependence and its treatment.

Online Assessment for PC Maintenance Textbook

I copy edited this assessment for correct spelling, grammar, usage, and punctuation, making sure the questions met client specifications. I also made sure questions and answers were consistent with the textbook and that page references were accurate.

Reference Binder for Medical/Legal/Regulatory Review of a Training Module

I copy edit a series of monthly newsletters that describe and explain legal cases relevant to the practicing physician.

Clinical Study

I copy edited and styled a clinical study for submission to the Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal. I also provided the author with a list of the remaining journal requirements, including journal contact information and links to necessary forms.

The Attitude Equation 

I provided both a developmental edit and a copy edit for this publication. I also wrote the copy for the LifeSkills Publishing Web site.

Crohn’s Disease Learning System

I served as instructional and managing editor for this comprehensive training series comprising online and print modules, workshops, and assessments for both national and international audiences. I edited the materials for organization, clarity, consistency, and effective application of adult learning principles. I worked with a team of writers to develop characters and story lines for the online modules and to ensure information was presented consistently across overlapping components. I created and maintained a style sheet for the entire series, distributing weekly updates to stake holders in order to ensure consistency across program components and multiple drafts.

Ethics Workshop

I copy edited the leader’s guide of this case-study–driven workshop according to the Chicago Manual of Style, 15^th edition.

CD-ROM Course on Medicare and Medicaid

I provided both an instructional edit and a copy edit for this first program in a series on government healthcare. In addition, I wrote the learning objectives, review points, and assessment questions for each lesson in the program.
